It is often reported that the Chicago-style deep dish pizza was invented at Pizzeria Uno in 1943 by the founder, Ike Sewell and chef Rudy Malnati. However there is a 1956 article that reports deep dish pizza has been on the menu since 1926 at Rosati's Authentic Chicago Pizza.
